AccountAbility Plus was founded by Kate Sammons.

 

“Coming from a farming background I had always assumed I would have a career in agriculture. However, involvement in a diversification project at a young age, made me curious as to how a successful business worked.

After working for a number of accountants I realised that it wasn’t for me and embarked on my first business venture helping small businesses. I took my laptop from place to place working at my client’s site. This was at a time when small businesses didn’t have ready access to computers and, by giving them real time information, I revolutionised my clients’ ability to assess their profitability and deal with any potential financial issues before they became problems. Despite having no support from the bank, I financed the business venture myself, gradually increasing my roving support team.

I disposed of this very successful business in 2004 when I relocated to Suffolk, becoming a financial controller, mainly in the City. I offered a wide range of financial-related support, including the processing of complex payrolls, company secretarial services and assisting FCA-regulated businesses with their compliance. The success I achieved in offering this diversity of services led me to my most recent business venture – AccountAbility-Plus – a complete back office support solution to assist growing businesses.

Over the years I have been involved in running a number of businesses, ranging from a cash & carry feed merchant to a building maintenance company, a coarse fishery to a café and shop, architectural salvage to investment property rental and I have experienced the growing pains all businesses suffer. My team and I can ease those pains for other growing businesses. We work with them becoming an integral part of their team. Using our expertise and experience we can optimise our clients’ business growth with our day to day business support.

My fascination with business, any business, has given me a career I could not possibly have imagined and this fascination has not diminished over the years.

These experiences led Kate to form Accountability Plus, her team eases those pains for other growing businesses. When not supporting clients to grow their business, Kate enjoys crafts and gardening with a personal ambition of planting her own vineyard in Suffolk!
