Staying safe online includes having a strong, unique and personal password.
Try to keep passwords separate, by not using the same password on more than one system.
Don’t choose something easy to guess, instead, use random names and numbers. Do not use words, numbers or dates that relate to family and pets.
Keep your password safe at all times, never share with colleagues.
Change your password if it has been compromised and don’t just use a variable of the old one.
If two-step verification is available always use it.
Beware of bogus websites which copy HMRC etc. and phishing emails or texts which ask for personal details.
Finally, always ensure you have installed anti-virus protection and keep it up to date.
