WiRE Anniversary Charity Network Meeting

AccountAbility-Plus is celebrating West Suffolk WiRE’s second anniversary and would love to welcome you all to our special charity event on Tuesday 27 November 2018 for our final meeting of the year.
Mini Trade Fair
To mark the occasion and to promote the WiRE ethos of support, networking and the exchanging of skills between women in business, we are holding a mini Trade Fair at our premises in Wickhambrook.
Attendees will have the opportunity to showcase their products and services in our meeting rooms and we would love to have a good range of differing businesses, all promoting what they do best! We will provide the space and the audience so all you need to do is bring your products (and tables and banners) along. If you can limit your portable items to roughly a metre square, this will allow for the greatest number of stands. The charge for a stand will be £15, all being donated to West Suffolk Hospital’s My WiSH Charity. The usual WiRE entrance fee will also apply.
Even if you don’t wish to have a stand, we would love you to still come along to support your fellow Women in Rural Enterprise colleagues to network, buy some goodies and perhaps make new contacts. The usual meeting cost of £5 for WiRE members and £8 for non-WiRE members will apply in this instance.
AccountAbility-Plus will also generously donate an additional £5 for every attendee at our anniversary event to the My WiSH Charity, as our nominated charity this year, so the more attendees, the better!
The event will run from 10.00 until 12.00, with stand set-up from 9.15, followed by a celebratory light lunch of savoury nibbles and a glass of ‘something fizzy’.

The deadline for booking a place will be Thursday 15 November but as stand numbers are limited, you are advised to book early! We hope to see you all on the 27th.
The Office for National Statistics has found that the average absence level in the UK workforce is now 4.1 days per year. The lowest level since records began in 1993.
Is the workforce healthier or does this show presenteeism is on the rise? Do employees feel the need to go to work when they are ill? Are employees concerned about their job security after Brexit and possible redundancies?…
It has been a year since the Supreme Courts decision that employment tribunal fees were unlawful. According to recent figures published by the Ministry of Justice, the number of claims brought by a single employee grew by 11890 in the first quarter of 2018, compared to the previous year.

The next WEST SUFFOLK WiRE Networking Meeting will be held on Thursday 18th October 2018 starting at 09:30 – ‘Helping and supporting women in local businesses in and around West Suffolk’.
It’s time to book your place at our next WiRE network meeting and we would love to see you again! You can reply to this email to book your place and if you know anyone who may be interested in our meetings, please feel free to forward this invitation.
The meeting will be held on Thursday 18th October 2018 starting at 09:30am at: The Old Forge, Samples Farm, Ashfield Green, Wickhambrook CB8 8UZ Just look for the wind turbine and the Samples Farm sign and turn down the drive to find plenty of parking.
We will start the meeting with an introduction to Women in Rural Enterprise and why we do what we do. This will be followed by our speaker this month who is Kevin Kent from Blackwater Wealth Management Ltd.
Kevin has spent many years within the financial industry and has helped his clients make the most of their money and realise their financial goals. We are sure he will prove to be an entertaining and informative speaker and will be telling us all about how important financial planning is for our retirement and, regardless of whether you are a Director or sole trader, he will outline the financial benefits to both you and your business. He will also give an insight in to the financial markets and how they impact on the return on investments.
There will also be time for refreshments, talk to other attendees, make connections, seek advice, network with like-minded people and, most importantly, promote your business. Make sure you bring plenty of business cards, flyers or whatever promotional material you have that you can put out for people to help themselves to or we are happy to distribute on your behalf.
There is the opportunity to stand up and introduce your business to the group, although this is optional. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and seek support from our speaker and attendees before we close the meeting.
The cost is £5 for WiRE members and £8 for non-members, to cover the cost of refreshments, any surplus will go to our nominated charity MyWiSH.

We would also like to draw your attention to our final meeting of the year, on Tuesday 27 November, which will be a mini Trade Fair. Companies can request a stand in order to showcase their products and services to others for a small fee or, alternatively, just attend on the day to meet and network with other business owners. Further details of this event will be advertised in due course – the trade fair last year was hugely successful and lots of fun!
